My thoughts on grit and determination

Hey, everyone! I'm back, with a new post, just like I promised, yay! So, I've looked back at some of my posts, and then I realize, I haven't done a motivational post for a while now. I haven't completely forgotten about it, I've just been sidetracked by other things. It's really been throwing me off. So, I thought we could jump back to this, so let's jump in, here are my thoughts on grit and determination:
I can relate any thought I have of grit or determination to school.
You know, maybe it’s just me, but I find it somewhat odd how some seem to have this notion that school determines our entire future.
I mean, it’s not wrong. I’m sure it’s true for some schoolkids. The future doctors, lawyers, teachers, etc. But what about the rest of us?
There is only so much of a percent of people who actually go to school, not only because they like to learn, but it’s because they know that what their learning will eventually
help them to succeed in the future
But again, what about the rest of us? What about the other percent?
Why is there such a percentage of us who spend almost the majority of our childhood to late teens being in school doing amazing things when we should be out there and doing not only the same thing, but doing it in a way that make sense
Doing something that will improve us, make us better, and change our future to the point where it looks like it’s someplace where we want to be
Because it’s better to spend time on something important and productive rather than spend it doing something that’s less so
Because it’s better to spend time doing something you know will take you on the right path and lead you to where you want to be
Because it’ll lead you to where you know you want to be and not where someone wants you to go because no two people think alike
But somehow, we seem to live in a world where everyone from teachers, parents, and even other peers think that they’re the ones who should choose what’s best for us because everyone from parents to teachers think it’s better this way
And to that, I say forget it. Forget what others think we should do. Even though this seems
long overdue, it might be time for us to decide
For us to stand up for ourselves, for others, and for the future that we rightfully deserve
Something else that I found odd were all of the grades that we got; they seem to
matter less in the “real world"
That’s not to say that grades aren't important or that you should stop going to school
Because that’s not at all what I’m trying to say
Everyone has their own path and I can respect that
What I really mean to say, is that, earning our marks and learning what we’ve learned from school is only half of the battle that we face when it comes to achieving success
The other half comes from trying and trying again to do it and do it again until we find ourselves on the path that we’re willing to take and live by
But sometimes it’s easier to live that way. It’s easier to go by what others say rather than trusting yourself because it can feel like a fantasy ride that can take you to where you need to be
But I’m not here to follow someone else’s wishes, dreams, and desires and neither should you
Because I have my own dreams and desires and you have your own
But I’m also not here to go where I need to be
Because I’m here to go where I want to be
So, if I want to leave with anything, I’ll leave with this; If you learn, grow, laugh, work hard, play harder, and try hard enough, you’ll get to where you want to be if you believe in yourself enough
